Recently, my wife required an Oculoplastic surgery on her left lower eyelid. We are both in our 70s, and live in a very far-flung rural area, about 150 km from Bombay. Travelling is difficult and strenuous for us, Thus we wanted to avoid repeated visits to any hospital. Dr Karkhanis came highly recommended by the local doctors. On contacting him by phone, he heard out our plight with patience, understood our difficulties of travelling and suggested that we get various tests –which precede a surgical procedure-done locally and send him the reports. After receiving the reports (this saved us two journeys), he then video examined my wife and suggested that it may be better if the operation is done by Dr Anuradha Ayyar, who specialised in oculoplasty, and can perform the operation in Karkhanis Hospital in Thane. We found a very professional hospital, with friendly staff who understood that we had travelled a long way to get there in time through the horrendous Indian traffic. Dr Ayyar did the pre-examination and then the operation straight away. We were out of the hospital in three hours. Following this, both Dr Karkhanis and Dr Ayyar kept in regular touch, examined the state of healing of the eye by video and made sure that we were both at ease. We made one more visit to the hospital for a final check-up. In a country where we find that some professionals pass their patients through the mill to maximise their profit, we found Dr Karkhanis’s and Dr Ayyar’s empathy extraordinarily refreshing. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr Karkhanis – not only for his professionalism and expertise but also for his understanding of our problems and for keeping our comfort over his convenience. Dr. Sameer is an Competent and excellent Dr. He explained and answered all our queries in such a way that we shortlisted him.before and after surgery each and everything was taken care off.i opted for tummy tuck and liposuction of arms,though tummy tuck is painful procedure but the outcome is fabulous .u need to take care for 1st 15days but later as days pass by things get better.Hospital is clean and staff is courteous and caring right from miss Shiny at reception to sisters and aya.
