Body Contouring Following MWL

  • Arm Lift ( Brachioplasty)

Fluctuations in weight, growing older, and heredity can cause your upper arms to have a drooping, sagging appearance. This is a condition that cannot be corrected through exercise. Arm lift surgery may be right for you if the underside of your upper arms are sagging or appear loose and full due to excess skin and fat like “bat wings”. It can tighten and improve the contour of the upper arms. Sometimes it may be used in conjunction with liposuction to target both excess fat deposits in the arms and also address the excess skin elasticity with skin excision.

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

Mini tucks can be done on an out patient basis. The brachioplasty procedure is done usually under general anaesthesia and takes 2-3 hours. It better to stay back in the hospital following a brachioplasty.

  • Procedure

The upper arm lift: The operation begins with an incision along the arm. The location and length of the incision will vary depending on the amount of skin you wish to have removed, as well as the location of the excess skin flap

Mini Arm Lift: The mini arm lift may be an option for patients who need only minor revision to the skin on their upper arms following VASER to address the fat. The incision is much smaller & it can be placed in the armpit, where it is much less noticeable.

  • Post-op Recovery

You will need to wear a tight fitting body garment for the first few weeks to support the area as advised by Dr.Sameer. You should not engage in any strenuous activities until we ask you to do so. Your scars will be permanent but will eventually fade. You should allow 9 – 12 months for your scars flatten and lighten in colour. You could plan your trip back home after about 10 days following the procedure.

  • Brand New You !

The dramatic improvement in arm contour following arm lift surgery can greatly enhance your body image. A smooth, toned arm that matches your body image and personal goals does, however, come with visible scars. This is a fair trade-off to achieving a body contour that matches your body weight and proportion.

  • Belt Lipectomy

The Belt Lipectomy is the ultimate recontouring procedure for the trunk. It addresses everything the extended abdominoplasty does, with the addition of excising excess lower back skin and elevating the buttocks. It is designed to remove the excess skin fat and tissue around your hips and waistline in the belt distribution caused in part by poor tissue elasticity.

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

The belt lipectomy also known as a body lift is done under general anaesthesia and is a 5-7 hour procedure. You would need to be hospitalised for 5-6 days following the procedure, as nursing care while mobilisation go a long way in an uneventful recovery.

  • Procedure

The procedure is performed in a way similar to the extended abdominoplasty except that when the patient is placed on their side, the incisions are carried all the way to the midline of the back, just above the upper portion of the gluteal cleft (the vertical space between the buttocks). The width of the “belt” of tissue to be removed is dependent on the amount of extra skin and fat you have. Following removal of the tissue in this “belt” distribution, upper skin and tissue is pulled down and lower skin and tissue is pulled up giving you much tighter and more youthful looking body.

  • Post-op Recovery

Recovery is prolonged because of the requirement of avoiding bending at the waist for a month until adequate healing has occurred. It is important that the surgical incisions are not subjected to excessive force, abrasion, or motion during the time of healing. You will experience some pain associated with the surgery which is usually controlled well with pain medications. You should be able to resume your regular activities in about 2 weeks, although you should abstain from heavy lifting and strenuous exercise for several months. You could plan to fly back home 3 weeks following the procedure for an adequate follow up & post op recovery.

  • Brand New You !

The results of a Belt Lipectomy are visible almost immediately. It may take six months to a year for you to get completely used to your tighter stomach and body. Upon completion of healing process maintaining proper diet and exercise routine should assure a long lasting result. Scars will remain, but the overall results are long-lasting, provided that you maintain a stable weight and general fitness.

  • Breast lift with / without implants

Breast lift after weight loss is generally more extensive than the standard approach due to the amount of redundant skin and tissue laxity. Female breasts undergo dramatic changes after massive weight loss (MWL), with volume loss, deflation of the skin envelope, and ptosis. Poor tissue quality and loss of aesthetic units make the MWL breast not only difficult to beautifully shape, but also prone to recurrent deformity. With the help of the use of the silicone implants the upper pole of the breasts can be made to appear fuller or larger..

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

Breast contouring following massive weight loss with / without implants might take 3-5 hours depending on the extent of the procedure. The procedure is carried out under general anaesthesia. Hospital stay is usually advised for 2-3 days.

  • Procedure

A breast lift is designed to remove excess skin, rearrange internal breast tissue and relocate the nipple structure to create a more youthful looking breast. Placing a breast implant involves creating a pocket for the implant (usually under the chest muscle), placing the implant and closing the incision..

  • Post-op Recovery

After your procedure, you’ll wear an elastic compression bra over surgical dressings. Some bruising and discomfort in the breast area is normal. Any pain and discomfort you feel can be relieved with medications prescribed. Healing is gradual. You should be up and about in a 2-3 days. You can fly back after 10-15 days depending on the extent of the procedure.

  • Brand New You !

A breast lift raises and reshapes the breasts, the implants add volume which results in a firmer and more uplifted appearance. The breast reshaping is done in conjunction with an arm lift if there is loose skin hanging along back & bra rolls resulting in an upper body lift.

  • Thigh Lift

The inner thighs are an area commonly affected by weight loss, especially if a significant amount of weight was lost. Skin loses its elasticity with age, gravity and with changes in weight. Most patients find that they fit into their clothes more comfortably after a thigh lift..

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

The thigh lift is done under general anaesthesia and is a 3-4 hour procedure. You would need to be hospitalised for 2-3 days following the procedure.

  • Procedure

Inner Thigh Lifts are not intended strictly for the removal of excess fat. Liposuction alone can remove excess fat deposits where skin has good elasticity and is able to naturally conform to new body contours. In cases where skin elasticity is poor, a combination of liposuction and thigh lift techniques may be recommended.

  • Post-op Recovery

You may be required to wear a compression garment for several weeks following your procedure to minimize swelling and support the tissues as they heal.. You will experience some pain associated with the surgery which is usually controlled well with pain medications. You should be able to resume your regular activities in about two weeks, although you should abstain from heavy lifting and strenuous exercise for several months. You could plan to fly back home in 2 weeks following the procedure for an adequate follow up & post op recovery.

  • Brand New You !

The smoother tighter contouring that result from a thigh lift are apparent almost immediately, although initially obscured by some swelling and bruising. Following a thigh lift, skin quality is dramatically improved both in appearance and feel.
