Facial Rejuvenation

  • Eyelids

As key elements in facial expression, the eyes convey messages of emotion, vitality, and age. The aging process can cause the eyelids to sag and droop, which in combination with bags and puffiness can make you look sad, tired and older than you really are. Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty addresses these issues.

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

Eyelid surgery may take approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the extent of the surgery. The procedure will most likely be performed under local anaesthesia with sedation. Alternatively, we may choose to administer general anaesthesia. The procedure is done as day care.

  • Procedure

While there are several different blepharoplasty techniques that a surgeon can use to alter the appearance of the eyes, the standard surgical technique usually involves removing or redistributing fat deposits, as well as removing excess skin and muscle from regions of the upper and lower eyelids. Depending on the specific problems that need correction, we may treat the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both sets of eyelids.

  • Post-op Recovery

Following a blepharoplasty, you will likely experience some discomfort, swelling, and bruising which can be alleviated with cold compresses and pain medication. You will begin to notice an improvement in the bruising around your eyes in 7 – 10 days, however, you could plan to travel back after 4-5 days.

  • Brand New You !

Patients often look more alert and healthy, less tired, and generally have a younger, more rested appearance. A brow lift procedure is frequently necessary to adequately treat the redundant tissue of the upper eyelid area and achieve patient’s goals. Most patients are quite pleased with the results of their eyelid surgery which can be combined with other facial procedures as a part of a facial rejuvenation.

  • Brow Lift

Over time, the face and its features undergo age-related changes that make people feel as if they look tired, angry, sad, or older than they feel. These changes often first start to occur in the brow, or forehead region, which include the formation of forehead lines, glabellar creases, and drooping of the brow itself.

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

A brow lift is most likely be performed under local anesthesia with sedation. Alternatively, we may choose to administer general anesthesia. Its a daycare procedure.

  • Procedure

Approximately three to five incisions are positioned in the scalp and temple regions. The incisions are relatively small, & well hidden within the hairline. Repetitive muscle movement creates different wrinkles. By modifying the muscles (frontalis, corrugator, and procerus) in the region, normal muscle activity is disrupted without compromising proper muscle function. As a result, the lines and wrinkles will diminish and your muscles will still function to create facial expressions in the upper face.

  • Post-op Recovery

Following a brow lift, you will likely experience some discomfort, swelling, and bruising in the upper portion of your face and around your eyes, which can be alleviated with cold compresses and pain medication. Any stitches or sutures may remain in place for approximately 4 – 7 days. You could plan to return to work in approximately a week, however, the swelling and bruising make take a few weeks to completely subside.

  • Brand New You !

Most people don’t realize how much their sagging forehead contributed to the signs of aging until they see how much younger and more rested they appear after the lift. A forehead lift can reduce the appearance of forehead lines and wrinkles as well as lift the brow line, often achieving results that make you look as much as ten years younger.

A brow lift is usually performed in conjunction with a facelift to provide a smoother overall look to the face. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) may also be performed at the same time as a forehead lift.

  • Mid Face Lift

The mid-face lift lifts cheeks vertically, opposite to the pull of gravity, to create a natural refreshed appearance. This procedure can improve the look of the cheekbones, refresh the hollows of the lower eyes, soften smile lines, and lift the corners of the mouth. This technique is particularly well-suited to middle-aged and younger patients making a dramatic change in the way one looks by lifting sagging muscles and skin of the cheeks and jowls resulting in a “refreshed” appearance.

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

A mid facelift procedure may last approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the extent of the surgery and little more if other procedures are being combined with it. It can be done under local anaesthesia with sedation or general anaesthesia as daycare.

  • Procedure

Small incisions and fine instruments are used to access the malar fat deposits. Suspension sutures are placed thereby elevating and suspending them in a higher position. This restores the soft, round contours to the mid-face.

  • Post-op Recovery

As with any operation, including cosmetic surgery, there is a recovery period during which there may be some discomfort. Immediately after a midface lift, the lower eyelid and cheek area will be bruised and swollen. The bruising will take a couple of weeks to settle, while the swelling usually takes a bit longer to resolve.

  • Brand New You !

After a midface lift, the cheek area appears full and smooth. The irregular contour of the lower eyelid and the cheek area is corrected, making the face look brighter, softer, and more youthful. Eyelid lift, chin implants, rhinoplasty (nasal surgery), otoplasty (ear surgery), and lip surgery can also be performed in conjunction with a mid-face lift.

  • Full Facelift

There has been a tectonic shift in societal attitudes, so you often hear that 40 is the new 30, and 50 is the new 40. Yet the fact remains that external factors such as time, gravity, and sun exposure have not changed and continue to negatively affect our appearance as we age. This leads many patients to want to correct sagging neck skin and hanging jowls, turning back the clock to a time when they saw a smoother contour and firm jowl and neck area. In most cases, it is a facelift / rhytidectomy that will achieve the desired result.

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

Rhytidectomy is a safe, effective procedure & may last approximately 4-7 hours, depending on the extent of the surgery and if other procedures are being combined with it as a part of a facial makeover. We prefer general anesthesia while performing facelifts and advise our patients to stay with us for a day or 2.

  • Procedure

SMAS Facelifts are customised and address the face, neck & the jawline. The incision is strategically placed along / inside the hairline, curving behind the tragus, the ear & then along the posterior hairline, if required. The SMAS is plicated / resected depending on the laxity. The neck may be addressed with a separate incision below the chin.

  • Post-op Recovery

Following the facelift, a wrap around dressing is applied and left overnight. Pain is usually minimal but any discomfort is lessened with prescribed medication. Bruising varies but begins to disappear as early as 1 week or can last 2-3 weeks with some individuals. Most sutures are removed within 1 week of surgery. We ask our patients to plan a trip of 10-14 days prior to flying back home.

  • Brand New You !

Facial rejuvenation can’t stop the aging process. However, what a facelift can do is dramatically “turn back the clock,” improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat from the neck and jowl area, tightening and lifting underlying tissues back into a more youthful position, sculpting, enhancing cheek bones, and redraping the skin of your face and neck. Eyelid surgery, fat transfers, rhinoplasty are frequently combined with a facelift.

  • Neck Lift

The neckline is one of the most defining and revealing characteristics of a youthful appearance. Therefore most patients seeking facelifts point to the "turkey neck," the loose skin dangling under the chin. Some request just a "neck lift." A neck lift or a cervicoplasty will address the turkey neck defining the jaw line.

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

A neck lift procedure may take approximately 2-3 hours, and several hours if combined with a facelift. We prefer general anesthesia. We also prefer to hospitalize patients for a day following the procedure.

  • Procedure

Incisions are made on either side behind the ear. When combined with a platysmaplasty or a corset cervicoplasty, a small incision is made under the chin. Sections of skin are trimmed, lifted into place and sutured. The platysma may be plicated or a portion of it removed in order to reduce the appearance of skin laxity and banding around the neck. VASER liposuction may also be an option to remove fat to further sculpt the area.

  • Post-op Recovery

During the recovery period, you need to wear a compression garment for several days. This garment helps improve blood circulation, minimizes swelling, allows the patient to heal faster and minimizes the downtime while providing comfort and support to the neck. Sutures are removed between day 5-7 and you could fly back home after a week.

  • Brand New You !

The neck lift dramatically addresses the “turkey wattle” which is another give sign of waging along with the jowls, the facial creases & the big ear lobes. It defines the angle of the neck, tightens the skin & defines the jawline. Remember a neck lift will not address the jowls, for that you would need a facelift.

  • Rhinoplasty

Nose reshaping, or rhinoplasty, is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures performed today. Nose reshaping procedures can help to correct the disproportionate appearance of the nose by altering the size or shape of the nasal dorsum / tip, the span of the nostrils, or the angle between the nose and the upper lip. In addition, nose reshaping procedures may be performed to correct a nasal birth defect or injury as well as chronic breathing problems.

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

The rhinoplasty procedure is performed under general anaesthesia. The procedure duration can vary from 1-4 hours depending on the extent of the surgery. It can be done as daycare, or you might have to stay overnight at the clinic

  • Procedure

The approach to the nose during a rhinoplasty can be “open” or closed” depending on what needs to be one. Reshaping the Tip / increasing definition, reducing the dorsal hump, osteotomy to reduce the width of the bony part of the nose & nasal implants are the commonest requests.

  • Post-op Recovery

After rhinoplasty, particularly during the first 24 hours-your face will feel puffy, your nose may ache, and you may have a dull headache which can be controlled by medication. Most of the swelling and bruising should disappear within two weeks or so. The splints come off on day 5 & the sutures on day 7.

  • Brand New You !

If your desire to have rhinoplasty stems from your desire to alter the appearance of one facial feature that’s been nagging you for a long time, you are more likely to have a positive experience following surgery. Though every patient’s experience with the procedure is different, many report a boost in self-confidence and overall well-being; with notable emotional and psychological benefits associated with rhinoplasty. Also, you may simply enjoy being more attractive.

  • Dimple Creation

Dimples on cheeks are considered cute by many. Men and women are equally demanding this procedure now a days and therefore the demand for surgically created dimples is increasing. The procedure involves simulating the natural way a dimple is formed. The surgery can be performed on any kind of cheek, be it chubby or not.

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

The procedure takes 20-30 mins and is done under local anaesthesia.

  • Procedure

Through an incision inside the mouth (without any external scars), a circular core of tissue is removed from the inner cheek leaving the skin intact. An absorbable suture through the cheek muscle and through the dermis layer of the skin which in turn will result in dimpling of the skin.

  • Post-op Recovery

Complications are infrequent and usually minor. A small percentage may develop a haematoma or local swelling. After care usually involves regular mouth rinsing with betadine or chlorhexidine antiseptic mouthwash.

  • Facial Implants

Your facial features and contours are often some of the most noticeable and can help to convey initial impressions of character. Some individuals are simply dissatisfied with the appearance of their face, while others may feel subconscious about their appearance due to congenital defects or trauma to the face.

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

The various procedures for facial implants take about 1-2 hours and are usually carried out under local anaesthesia with sedation or GA. They are done as daycare and you can leave the same day.

  • Procedure

Chin Implants

Chin implants are pliable, which allows them to be inserted through a small incision on the inside of the mouth or along the underside of the chin, in a tension-free pocket. A compression bandage may be applied to provide comfort and support.

Cheek Implants

An incision inside the upper lip, near the top of the gums & he pocket is usually positioned directly over the cheekbone.

Nasal Implants

An incision is made inside one or both nostrils and carefully sculpted pocket is created underneath the skin along the bridge and base of the nose. In some instances, cartilage and bone may be altered and reshaped in order to change the profile of the nose. The implant itself can also be sculpted for a perfect result.

  • Post-op Recovery

You will likely experience some tightness and swelling for a few days, and some people experience numbness in the implant area for several weeks. Initially, moving the mouth and chewing can be difficult, and you may be placed on a liquid diet for a couple of days. Discomfort or pain is commonly controlled with oral medications. The sutures inside your mouth will dissolve, and the stabilizing tape will be removed after about seven days.

  • Fat transfers (Facial Liposculpture)

As the face matures over time, there is an inevitable loss and volume depletion of the natural facial fat which contributes to the appearance of an aging face. Essentially, fat transfer is the process taking fat from one area of your body where it is plentiful (for example, the abdomen or thigh) and transferring it to an area of volume loss in the face. Transferring a patient's own fat is an ideal volume source as there are no allergic reactions, it is readily available, relatively inexpensive, and can be used to treat a variety of conditions including facial fullness loss, as well as post-surgical defects and post-traumatic defects.

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

A facial liposculpture may take approximately 1-2 hours. The procedure can be done under local anaesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia as daycare.

  • Procedure

Many areas of the face and body can be treated with fat transfer, but the most common sites include: correction of "hollow" eyes and visible tear troughs, temple areas and temporal fat pads, cheeks, chin, jaw line, lips, and other locations. Fat transfer is beneficial alone or in combination with other procedures to enhance the results of those cosmetic surgeries, such as facelifts.

  • Post-op Recovery

You could expect some swelling due to over correction and there could be some bruising too. You could fly back home after a 5-7 days.

  • Brand New You !

To restore lost facial volume and contour, fat transfer / liposculpture can be an excellent method to replenish youthful contours, with the added benefit of improvement in skin texture and tone. Fat transfer is truly 100% natural & compared to injectable facial fillers. Unlike injectable fillers, fat transfers can be used in larger volumes and have much longer-lasting results, filling out the face with much more youthful contours.

  • Otoplasty

Otoplasty is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures for children designed to improve the shape of the ear. Problems with development of the ear may include over development of the Conchal Bowl Cartilage (a ‘cup ear’), a failed development of the anti-helical fold (a ‘lop ear’), or ears that unusually protrude from the head. The ideal age for an Otoplasty is between 5-6 years old. This is when the ear has become fully developed; just before the beginning of school

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

The procedure takes about an hour. In children otoplasty is done under general anaesthesia. For older children or adults, we prefer to use local anesthesia, with sedation as daycare.

  • Procedure

The incision location is determined by finding the most inconspicuous site at the back of the ear. The exposed ear cartilage is sculpted / excised and re-positioned closer to the head for a more natural-looking appearance. Dissolvable or removable stitches are used for the incision location, which are removed or dissolve within seven days.

  • Post op recovery

Initial recovery from Otoplasty will take between 1-2 weeks. Following surgery patients may experience mild bruising and redness as well as swelling and numbness of the ear(s). A protective head band is recommended during sleep for the first 3 weeks and continuously during this time for young children. Any situation (e.g. basketball, wrestling) where they may be potential for a blow to the ear should be avoided for 6 weeks following surgery.

  • Lip Lift

As we age, all the bones of the body (including the face) retract and diminish, allowing the flesh of the face to hang more. The soft tissue and fat of the face undergo atrophy, so the skin itself also falls. The aged upper lip is characterised by a thin or non-existent vermilion (the pink part) and a smile that does not show the teeth. Therefore, people experiencing this will also benefit from a lip lift, which is designed to reduce the height of the upper lip

  • Anaesthesia & Stay

The lip lift procedure takes about an hour under local anaesthesia.

  • Procedure

The pink part of the lip can be 1/3 to 1/2 the volume of the area between the top of the lip and the nose in general. The lip lift is a procedure that elevates the position of the upper lip with respect to the teeth, giving a broader smile. The amount of pink lip that is seen is also increased, giving the patient wider lips. The lips can also be made fuller with lip augmentation by fat transfer into the lips during the same surgical session.

  • Post op recovery

You could expect some swelling and there could be some bruising too which will subside over a week. You could fly back home after a 3-4 days.

  • Brand New You !

The result of the lip lift is a more youthful and pleasant shape to the mouth and lips. The teeth will show more and you will almost always looks happier and relaxed. Some of us are born with naturally long upper lips, while other people start to notice it more with the aging process, this procedure is for both. The patient satisfaction rate is very high when done individually, or in combination with a facelift and other facial procedures.
